Individual Clients

Individuals with developmental disabilities (our "Clients") and their advocates are referred to us by Clark County DD Program, Division of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR), or local school districts to meet with us as a possible vendor to help them find meaningful employment with local employers. Individuals with developmental disabilities include people who have conditions such as mental retardation, cerebral palsy, autism, epilepsy and other neurological conditions. These individuals, in most cases, choose from a number of local vendors within Clark County, such as EO Supported Employment, to determine which vendor will work best for them. There is no cost to the individuals or their families for these services which are funded by county, state, and local school contracts awarded to EO Supported Employment.

Throughout the years, we have grown significantly through our exceptional team’s support of individuals with disabilities and the positive outcomes we achieve for both our clients and employers. We currently serve more than 80 individuals with a team of seven experienced supported employment professionals.

Benefits to our Individual Clients

With assistance from EO Supported Employment, individuals with developmental disabilities become employed. Employment gives people greater economic and personal freedom and the resources to become more integrated into the community. The benefits to the individual often extend to a greater sense of achievement, independence, and even personal health.

Services Provided

  1. Initial Assessment: The first step in the process is a meeting with the individual client and their advocates to determine skill levels, preferences, and capabilities.
  2. Resume / Portfolio: We then create personal marketing materials for each individual client that describe their capabilities and preferences, which we use when we present them to possible local employers. This may include a resume or personal portfolio.
  3. Job Development: We are continuously contacting local employers to determine whether they have any jobs, or part of a job, that may be appropriate or developed to suit the individuals we serve.
  4. Training: When the individual starts work, one of EO’s Supported Employment Specialists accompanies the person and provides one-on-one, on-the-job training until the new employee is independent enough to perform the job responsibilities. This training includes assistance in transportation plans and coworker training of the individual employment team to ensure a proper support system is in place to help the person succeed in their new job.
  5. On-Going Support: When needed, even after the placement, we continue to provide support for the individual and the business.
